Distinguishing Features
Geophytic; flowers unisexual, perigone absent; spadix fertile to apex; ovules orthotropous. Differs from Asterostigma, in leaf blade always pinnatipartite, synandrium incompletely fused (usually only at base) with connectives of each stamen free, thecae elliptic and seedling leaves exclusively cordate. Differs from Gorgonidium by staminodes with conspicuously papillate connectives, short synandrium filaments and very slender habit.
